Eurofase infrared heating installed in a covered outdoor living space

The room doesn't
stop at the wall.

Build a more complete outdoor project. A dealer's field guide to selecting infrared heat, integrating control, and getting the right parts on the job before the ceiling closes.

01 START WITH THE SPACE

Heat the places
people actually use.

Think beyond square footage. Define where the client will dine, gather, cook and relax. Mounting height, exposure and direction matter as much as area.

THE SMARTER BRIEF

One patio.
Different moments.

01
Full-area comfort

Covered patios with several occupied areas may call for a coordinated multi-heater layout.

02
Targeted comfort

Open patios often benefit from defining specific seating or activity zones first.

03
Prairie conditions

Wind and ceiling geometry change results. Request manufacturer-reviewed placement before making a comfort promise.

PROJECT PLANNING TOOL

Know the zone. Then specify.

Compare measured dimensions with a heater's published approximate per-unit footprint. This is not a recommended heater count or electrical circuit design.

Zone: 500 sq ft. EF60 approximate per-unit footprint: 11 × 11 ft. This area comparison does not prescribe a heater quantity.
02 CHOOSE THE HEATER

Two distinct families.
One considered design.

Choose the heater's form factor and mounting approach before narrowing the wattage. The EF Performance and LP Low-Profile families solve different architectural problems.

PERFORMANCE

Make warmth
the main event.

EF series offers the high-output heater range, including eligible recessed configurations for a cleaner finished ceiling.

Eurofase LP low-profile infrared heater LP SERIES
LOW PROFILE

Less visible.
More intentional.

LP40 pairs a slimmer housing with surface, suspension or approved pole mounting. It is not a recessed heater.

03 PLAN THE MOUNT

Beautiful space.
Very little equipment.

Mounting is an architectural decision, not an accessory afterthought. Recessed installations demand coordination before the ceiling closes; surface and suspended projects have their own clearances and structural requirements.

Fire-rated enclosure components are not, by themselves, certification of a completed ceiling assembly. Manufacturer, electrician and authority approval are required.

04 DESIGN THE CONTROL PATH

Comfort should work
with the rest of the home.

Specify the control experience as carefully as the heaters. Simple switching, manufacturer Wi-Fi and professionally designed multi-zone control each serve a different project.

MORE THAN HEATING

One outdoor room.
A complete experience.

The best outdoor projects coordinate heat with architectural lighting, audio, and the control system the homeowner already knows.

DEALER RESOURCES

The details
that prevent rework.

Everything below supports informed project decisions; final placement, rated clearances, mounting and electrical design remain with the manufacturer and qualified installers.

Can infrared heaters improve comfort in Alberta's shoulder seasons?+

They can improve comfort in cooler outdoor conditions. Wind exposure, mounting height and heater aiming have a major effect on performance; a reviewed layout should precede coverage claims.

Can Eurofase heating be coordinated with RadioRA 3?+

Potentially, through an approved control architecture. A compatible Lutron interface commands the properly specified Eurofase control box; heaters must not be connected directly to conventional lighting dimmers. Exact compatibility requires review.

How many Wi-Fi controllers are needed?+

The required controller-to-heater mapping depends on the supplied models and approved configuration. We confirm the matching accessories and bundle inclusions during BOM review.

Which models can be recessed?+

Eligible EF models support manufacturer-approved recessed kits. LP is a different mounting family. Confirm the exact heater, frame, ceiling assembly and required enclosures before rough-in.

Does Simply Controlled install the system?+

No. We supply and support the installing dealer with product selection, documentation and coordinated BOM planning. Electrical installation and system programming remain with qualified project professionals.

What else belongs on the bill of materials?+

Check compatible mounting hardware, recess components where required, approved high-temperature whips, control boxes, switching/timers, wiring provisions, project freight and any related lighting or audio scope. View the Eurofase dealer hub ↗.
