Eurofase LP40 is a 62.75-inch, 4,000 W, single-quartz-element, low-profile electric infrared heater for modern covered patios, terraces and outdoor living spaces. The LP40's slimmer architectural housing differentiates it from the EF40 4,000 W dual-element series: both deliver nominally 4 kW, but they are different heater and mounting families.
Canadian 240 V variants
| Supplier SKU | Finish | Output | Finish verification |
|---|---|---|---|
| LP40240B | Black | 4,000 W / 240 V | Shown in Eurofase's model-specific LP40 specification |
| LP40240S | Stainless Steel | 4,000 W / 240 V | Listed in Canadian supplier price sheet; confirm current orderability, photographs and finish construction |
The 2025 manufacturer LP40 specification explicitly illustrates the Black finish. Simply Controlled's Canadian commercial file separately lists LP40240S Stainless Steel; this catalogue variant is retained but remains subject to manufacturer finish and availability confirmation.

Low-profile mounting is different from recessed mounting
Eurofase's LP30/LP40 service and installation manual describes wall or ceiling mounting with the LP-series brackets. It does not establish compatibility with the standard EF39FMPF or EF61FMPF flush-mount frames. Do not assume those recessed frames or Type-X enclosures fit the LP40 simply because an EF60 heater has a similar overall length. If a flush ceiling installation is mandatory, use an EF heater family and its matched installation system, or obtain explicit approval from Eurofase.
Canadian installation and heat-clearance planning
The LP installation manual requires licensed-electrician permanent hardwiring, grounding and compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code. For Canada, mount more than 8 ft (2.4 m) above the floor. The manufacturer diagrams set minimum clearances from ceilings, vertical surfaces and adjacent heaters, including 18 in from vertical surfaces, typical 6 in ceiling-mount and 12 in wall-mount overhead separations, and at least 3 ft between adjacent heaters; use the exact diagrams because angles, orientation and obstructions change the applicable conditions. Maintain the manufacturer's air circulation; do not enclose the space above the heater without an approved installation method.
Eurofase recommends a 15-minute cool-down after four hours of continuous operation. Select weather-appropriate conduit fittings and mounting hardware in accordance with the IPX4 installation instructions. The heater must not be installed near combustible storage or where people can reach a hot surface in normal use.
Heating controls and wiring compatibility
The LP40 is a single-element heater, so the dual-element EF40/EF60 HI/LO switching approach must not be copied to LP40 without a model-specific approved diagram. Eurofase's LP manual illustrates a manufacturer on/off wall-switch family and refers to dedicated heater control boxes for additional functions. Any selected manual switch, Wi-Fi controller or zone-control box must be rated and wired for the actual 16.7 A heater load and the project's supply voltage. A licensed installer must select disconnects, overcurrent protection, conductors and approved switching architecture.
What is included and what is separate?
This listing is one LP40 heater in the selected finish. The manufacturer LP40 guide describes 6-in wall/ceiling brackets. Electrical control boxes, wall switches, disconnects, supply wiring, installation labour and any project-specific mounting accessories are separate. Check the manufacturer packing list on receipt.
Choose LP40 or EF40
LP40: single-element, 62.75-in low-profile body and manufacturer-published ~100 sq. ft. planning area. EF40: dual-element 39-in heater platform and published ~80 sq. ft. planning area, with a documented 39-inch-class flush-mount frame for eligible recessed designs. Coverage varies with wind, exposure, height and heat-loss conditions; neither number guarantees outdoor comfort.

Frequently asked questions
Can LP40 be recessed using the EF61 frame? Not under the LP40 model's published installation method. Obtain manufacturer approval or select a compatible EF-series recessed system.
Does Stainless Steel LP40240S exist? It is listed in the supplied Canadian Eurofase commercial price file. Verify current supply and finish-specific assets with the manufacturer before making an availability commitment.
Can EFIKWSM provide HI/LO on LP40? Do not assume so; LP40 has one element and needs an approved control mode and wiring diagram for its actual configuration.
Dealer planning: provide the patio dimensions, exposure, mounting height, surface-mount location, supply voltage and desired control approach. Final stock, delivery and pricing require confirmation.
