Lotus Mini Tangra: 1-inch and 2-inch architectural LED downlights for Canadian trade projects

Specify the right Mini Tangra fixture, driver and rough-in plate without guessing a manufacturer SKU. This curated range contains eight Lotus Tangra fixture families with 268 orderable variant SKUs: 1-inch fixed round, square and invisible-trim models, plus 2-inch fixed downlights and aimable gimbals. Every parent product has finish, beam, optical and CRI selections for exact architectural specifications. All eight fixtures are made in Canada, require 24V DC and use separately ordered compatible power supplies.

Construction-stage requirement: Match the PR (round) or PS (square) mounting plate to the exact model. The Lotus Mini Tangra 26-inch PR/PS rough-in plate family is purchased separately; the correct variant must be selected before cutting. Driver and control selection: match the real load

These are 24V DC constant-voltage fixtures; do not connect directly to 120V mains. The Lotus KVE 24V 5-in-1 dimmable drivers are available in 30W, 60W and 96W output variants, supplied separately. Their manufacturer-listed maximum fixture counts are different for 5W 1-inch and 8W 2-inch families.

Electrical coordination: These are model-specific manufacturer maxima, not universal mixed-load limits or a substitute for an electrical design. Verify the exact driver suffix, dimmer/control protocol, wiring topology, voltage drop, cable length, circuit and installation environment. Specify appearance and photometrics by variant

  • Fixed or directional: L1F and L2F use fixed optics. L2G-RRT (round) and L2G-SRT (square) offer adjustable gimbal aiming.
  • Thin trim or invisible trim: RDT and SDT provide a visible thin edge; RDI requires an invisible-trim finishing detail and its own opening.
  • Optical options: Available reflector choices and nominal beams vary by family. Review the selected variant and manufacturer photometry rather than assuming one universal beam or lumen output.
  • High colour rendering: CRI95 versus CRI98 is determined by the ordered SKU. Five selectable colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K or 5000K) are part of each model's configuration; the Kelvin setting does not change CRI grade.

Prices are shown in CAD. New launch listings may be available for specification before local inventory or supplier release. Confirm exact-SKU supplier availability, current dealer costs and pricing, fabrication schedule, freight and delivery before issuing a firm project commitment.

Tangra made-to-order conditions: Tangra items are made to order in Canada with a stated two-day assembly lead time, subject to the current supplier release and availability. This assembly period is not a guaranteed delivery date. A 30% restocking fee applies to cancellations or revisions after assembly has begun. Confirm acceptance, configuration and current production timing before purchase.

Frequently asked questions for designers and installers

Does the fixture price include the driver or plate?

No. Compatible 24V drivers and PR/PS rough-in plates are separate order lines where needed.

Can a 1-inch or 2-inch hole be used for every nominally matching model?

No. Square, thin-trim, invisible-trim and gimbal models have different cutouts. Match the model-specific opening and rough-in plate shown in the table.

Can I choose a driver by wattage alone?

No. Match output voltage, manufacturer fixture-count limit, dimming method, wiring and install conditions to the exact product. Mixed circuits require a separate engineering check.

What should I confirm before quoting a Tangra project?

Confirm model/SKU, quantities, controls, accessory BOM, supplier availability, dealer pricing, fabrication lead time and the 30% post-assembly cancellation/revision condition.
