Quick choice: The Lotus Tangra L2G-RRT is a Canadian-made 2-inch round adjustable gimbal LED downlight with a thin trim. Its deep-set, aimable light source offers 20° tilt and 360° rotation for task lighting, wall washing and angled ceilings up to 20°. This is the adjustable round Mini Tangra: choose an L2F fixed downlight when aiming is not needed or L2G-SRT when you need a square appearance.

- Five finishes: WH White, BK Black, BR Oil Rubbed Bronze (listed as Bronze in the selector), AZ Alzak, and WB White/Black Duo.
- Five optic choices: RC20 = clear-glass reflector 20°; RC36 = clear-glass reflector 36°; RF36 = frosted-glass reflector 36°; RC50 = clear-glass reflector 50°; RF50 = frosted-glass reflector 50°. The manufacturer's orderable range does not list a frosted 20° optic.
- Two high-colour-rendering LEDs: 5C95 = field-selectable five CCTs with CRI95; 5C98 = the same selectable CCT range with CRI98. CRI is set by the purchased SKU, not changed by the CCT selector.
How to choose: Match the project finish first, then the required 20°/36°/50° beam, clear or frosted reflector, and CRI grade. The gimbal mechanically adjusts direction within the manufacturer's 20° tilt and 360° rotation limits; the beam angle refers to the selected optic, not the tilt range. For a lumen-critical design, request the photometric report for the actual SKU and CCT; the published 850-lumen value is conditional on 4000K and CRI95.

Required driver — sold separately
Important: The fixture is 24V DC constant voltage and is not designed for direct 120–277V line-voltage connection. Select a compatible Lotus KVE 24V 5-in-1 driver. Its 120–277V rating refers to the driver's line input, not the LED fixture input. Lotus states dimming down to 0.1% when used with its specified drivers. The fixture price does not include a driver.

Shop the compatible Mini Tangra 24V KVE dimmable drivers. Manufacturer maximum fixture counts are specific to this 8W L2G-RRT model. Do not apply the higher counts published for the 5W L1F-RDT; confirm circuit layout, conductor size, voltage drop, dimmer compatibility and wiring rules with the electrical designer.
Rough-in planning and accessory
Lotus specifies a 2½-inch ceiling cutout and 3 inches of space above the ceiling. The matching separately ordered preconstruction accessory is PR-212, a 26-inch flat rough-in plate. See the Mini Tangra rough-in plate family; choose PR-212. Check accessory packaging and minimum order quantities before placing a trade order.
For ceilings with a slope, this 20°-tilt gimbal offers an aiming solution, but the ceiling assembly, electrical box/driver placement, fire and wet-location details must still follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and applicable code. The sheet does not establish a numerical IP grade, open-plenum classification or fire-resistance duration; do not assume those ratings from other Lotus models.

- L2G-SRT: 2-inch adjustable square gimbal, when a square trim shape is preferred.
- L2F-RDT: 2-inch fixed round deep-regressed thin trim, when directional adjustment is unnecessary.

Frequently asked purchasing questions
Will one 30W driver power four of these 8W fixtures?
No. Lotus lists a manufacturer maximum of three L2G-RRT fixtures on KVE-24030-TMWJ1-VA. The 60W model is listed for up to seven, and the 96W model for up to twelve, subject to installation design.
Can this gimbal tilt 36° because it has a 36° beam?
No. Beam spread and aim are separate attributes. The manufacturer's mechanical aiming range is 20° tilt and 360° rotation; the selected lens/reflector establishes the 20°, 36° or 50° nominal light beam.
Is it suitable for wet locations?
Lotus lists the L2G-RRT as wet-location, Type IC and air-tight with cETLus and FCC certifications. Confirm the installation method, ceiling details and local code; a wet-location listing is not an underwater/submersible rating.
Will my CRI98 version deliver 850 lumens?
That cannot be inferred. Lotus states up to 850 lumens at 4000K/CRI95 only. For CRI98, different optics or other selected Kelvin settings, request exact photometric data.
Is stock ready to ship?
Lotus's October 2026 announcement indicated November 2026 as the anticipated stocking period for Mini Tangra. This is not confirmation of Simply Controlled's on-hand inventory, live supplier stock or a promised delivery date. Confirm availability before scheduling a project.
