Choose the correct Lotus 24V driver: The Lotus KVE-TMWJ1-VA family contains 30W, 60W and 96W 24V DC constant-voltage Class 2 LED drivers for compatible low-voltage Lotus lighting. These are mains-powered power supplies, not LED fixtures. Each variant converts 100–277V AC input to 24V DC output (adjustable 24–26V) and supports five common lighting-control methods. Select the driver by the connected fixture model, manufacturer's permitted fixture count, control method, installation environment and electrical load.

Choose 30W, 60W or 96W: exact model differences

The efficiency values are manufacturer-published figures at full rated load; they are not standby efficiencies, dimming efficiencies, or a measurement of a connected fixture. Driver size is its rated maximum 24V output wattage, not the wattage that the unit necessarily consumes at AC input.

Electrical specifications by driver

Common specifications: Active PFC gives a typical power factor greater than 0.95. THD is typically below 15% at full LED load. Maximum standby power is 0.5W. The manufacturer lists short-circuit, overload and overheating protections, with built-in separate line- and low-voltage wiring compartments and multiple knockouts. This product family is listed for dry, damp and wet locations, with cULus-listed Class 2, Class P, SELV, RoHS and FCC Class B markings per Lotus.

What does 5-in-1 dimmable mean?

All three KVE drivers support five control-interface types: (1) forward/reverse phase control, including TRIAC/ELV/MLV where compatible; (2) 0–10V; (3) 1–10V; (4) potentiometer; and (5) 10V PWM. Lotus's Voltage Reduce (VR) mode and active power-factor correction are designed to improve dimmer compatibility. The manufacturer lists no minimum driver load with quality LED dimmers, but this does not guarantee universal dimmer operation or a specific 0.1%/1% visible light level with every fixture. The fixture and dimmer must also support the target dimming performance.

Installation note: Use one supported dimming-control configuration following Lotus's wiring diagrams and the control manufacturer's documentation. These drivers connect to mains on the input and distribute controlled 24V DC to compatible fixture loads. Do not connect 12V LED fixtures to the 24V output, and do not connect 24V fixtures directly to mains voltage. Driver output may be adjusted within the stated 24–26V range, but fixture voltage requirements and installation instructions must control the final setting.

How many Lotus fixtures can each KVE driver support?

The following are fixture-model-specific maxima published with the compatible fixtures, not a promise that every Lotus luminaire of equal wattage behaves identically. Confirm the exact fixture SKU, electrical load, wire distance, voltage drop, control compatibility and installation design.

Important qualification: The three KVE driver sheets explicitly name Lotus Tangra 1-inch and 2-inch fixtures as applications. The 4-inch LE4R/LE4RR counts above come from those fixtures' manufacturer sheets, not from the KVE sheets alone. Gimbal, marine-grade and other special variants require their own load/compatibility verification before borrowing a count from these examples.

Where can these drivers be installed?

Lotus approves the KVE drivers for dry, damp and wet locations. The rated ambient operating environment is −40°C to +40°C, subject to the model-specific load derating curve. The manufacturer warns not to exceed +40°C ambient at full rated load; above this condition, reduce output load as the corresponding curve requires. Mount shaded when outdoors, and in a well-ventilated location indoors. Poor ventilation, overheating or failing to derate can shorten service life and void warranty.

Physical mounting: The built-in wiring compartments separate line and low-voltage connections; each model's enclosure and terminal arrangement is illustrated in its own PDF. Allow appropriate access, knockout routing and ventilation. Use the correct model-specific drawing rather than assuming 30W/60W/96W enclosure dimensions are identical. Have all mains and low-voltage connections made according to Lotus instructions and applicable electrical code.

Frequently asked questions

Is the input 24V AC or 120V?

Neither. The driver INPUT is 100–277V AC. Its LED OUTPUT is nominal 24V DC constant voltage, adjustable 24–26V as permitted by the connected fixture requirements.

Does a 96W KVE driver always consume 96 watts?

No. The 96W designation is maximum regulated output capacity. AC input consumption depends on the real connected load and conversion efficiency; standby is specified separately at no more than 0.5W.

What about compatibility with TRIAC, 0–10V or 1–10V dimmers?

Lotus supports phase-cut TRIAC/ELV/MLV, 0–10V, 1–10V, potentiometer and 10V PWM control. Check the exact dimmer/control and fixture together. The absence of a specified minimum driver load is not a guarantee of a particular fixture's lowest stable dimming level.

Can I use this for a 12V LED puck?

No. This is a 24V DC output driver. Choose a suitable separate 12V supply for 12V fixtures. The 24V AD-107T puck family has its own manufacturer-stated driver and warranty conditions, so do not assume these KVE models are confirmed for it.

Can I mount the driver outside or in a wet location?

The manufacturer lists dry, damp and wet locations. Follow the actual enclosure, wiring, temperature, ventilation and mounting restrictions in its current model-specific spec and installation documentation; wet-location approval is not a submersion claim.

Does the driver include LED downlights?

No. Each product variant is a single power-supply/driver. Lotus fixtures, dimmers, wiring and external accessories are separately purchased unless specified otherwise.

Is there a warranty?

Lotus specifies a 5-year driver warranty, subject to its terms. The warning specifically identifies overheating, insufficient ventilation and failure to follow load-derating requirements as potential reasons for short life or voided coverage.
