SKU:EFCB24M1
Eurofase EFCB24 is the Canadian-made multi-zone contactor control-box family for electrically switched on/off infrared patio-heater zones. This listing covers the 120–240 V commercial models with one, two, three or four independent heater zones. It is designed for professionally specified control by compatible wall switches, timers, thermostats or external automation signals—not continuous heater-output dimming.
Four manufacturer EFCB24 variants
| Manufacturer SKU | Nominal control zones | Zone rating | Supplier voltage code |
|---|---|---|---|
| EFCB24M1 | 1 zone | 40 A per zone | 24: 120–240 V heater-supply family |
| EFCB24M2 | 2 zones | 40 A per zone | 24: 120–240 V heater-supply family |
| EFCB24M3 | 3 zones | 40 A per zone | 24: 120–240 V heater-supply family |
| EFCB24M4 | 4 zones | 40 A per zone | 24: 120–240 V heater-supply family |
Important: the 160 A figure in the EFCB manufacturer specification refers to the maximum four-zone family, not a universal current allowance for every box. Individual zone nameplate limits, heater duty cycle, feeder/circuit protection, conductor and breaker sizing must be confirmed against the installed variant and local Canadian code.

Choosing EFCB or EFURCB
EFCB24: straightforward independently switched zones where heat is fully on or off. EFURCB24: separately designed proportional / 0–10 V control architecture with a different 50 A-per-zone manufacturer specification. Choose the EFURCB universal relay family if the system's design requires heat-output adjustment, not only on/off timing.
Integration into dealer and smart-home projects
Eurofase's contactor specification describes use with appropriate manufacturer wall switches, timers, thermostats and compatible low-power automation switching. The actual control circuit must be designed by a licensed electrician. A Lutron or other smart-home relay does not directly switch the heater load unless the exact device is specifically rated and approved for it. Where an upstream controller activates the Eurofase contactor, the contactor and correctly protected wiring perform the heater-load switching.
For advanced multi-zone commercial installations, begin with the heater schedule and electrical supply, then assign the required independent zones and select the M1–M4 hardware. Do not infer heater count directly from the zone count.
Installation and enclosure selection
EFCB is a mains-voltage heater control cabinet, not a plug-in accessory. Confirm local code-compliant mounting surface, service access, branch and feeder protection, grounding, isolation/disconnect, voltage, heater current, control-circuit connections, and environmental enclosure suitability with the installer. Although Eurofase supplies a general EFCB family technical sheet, the final EFCB variant wiring diagram and rating plate remain required for electrical installation. Eurofase's newer EFURCB 2026 manual covers a different control family and must not be substituted for EFCB wiring instructions.
Heater sizing reference
For planning only, a single 4,000 W EF40 at 240 V draws approximately 16.7 A, and a single 6,000 W EF60 at 240 V draws approximately 25 A. These figures do not alone establish permitted simultaneous loads on any EFCB zone. The installer must verify appropriate overcurrent protection and all manufacturer-specific wiring and duty requirements.
What comes with a contactor box?
This listing is for one manufacturer EFCB24 contactor control enclosure in the selected zone count. The heater, remote or wall switch, timer, third-party control module, disconnect, conduit, wires and installation are not included unless independently specified. Use the manufacturer's actual packing and installation documents for detailed enclosure content.

Frequently asked project questions
Can EFCB dim heater output? Not as the basic manufacturer contactor system. Choose a suitable proportional control box and approved dimming interface when variable-output heating is a requirement.
Is M4 rated for a single 160 A heater? No. The manufacturer publishes 40 A per zone, with the family total representing independent zones, and actual circuit sizing needs professional approval.
Can a third-party relay operate it? Potentially through a properly specified control input; verify exact electrical ratings, approved wiring and the installation plan before purchasing.
Supply voltage, current per heater, quantity, zone count, switches/timer expectations and installation location are required to finalize equipment selection. Proposed pricing, freight and availability remain pending confirmation.
Control accessories for complete on/off systems
Depending on the approved Eurofase switching design, an EFCB can be specified with a EFSWT countdown timer or appropriately rated weatherproof on/off switches. This EFCB contactor system is for on/off control, not a 0–10 V dimming substitute. These accessories are sold separately and their electrical interface must be verified by the project electrician and supplier.
