Eurofase EF60 is a 61-inch, high-output 6,000 W dual-element quartz infrared heater for premium covered patios, outdoor kitchens and professionally specified heating zones. These Simply Controlled variants are 240 V standard-grille heaters in Black, Stainless Steel and White; they can be specified for surface mounting or a separately engineered recessed installation. EF60's larger manufacturer planning footprint does not remove the need to verify placement, clearances and electrical capacity.

Surface mounting and Canadian installation requirements
Eurofase requires permanent hardwiring, proper grounding and installation by a licensed electrician. For the Canadian market, mount the heater more than 8 ft (2.4 m) above the finished floor. Its installation manual requires heaters to be more than 3.3 ft (1 m) apart and combustible materials to remain at least 3.3 ft from the front fascia. The standard mounting table specifies at least 18 in from adjacent walls and vertical surfaces; at the ceiling, 12 in minimum for wall mounting and 6 in for ceiling mounting. These are surface-mount references, not recessed-pocket clearances. Refer to the mounting diagrams and applicable local code for every installation.
Eurofase recommends 15 minutes of cooling after four hours of continuous operation. The heater is not intended for unapproved direct plug-in or improvised control use. The installer must select compliant circuit protection, conductor sizing, grounding, disconnection and all compatible weather-rated fittings.
In-box components and separate system parts
Eurofase's EF60 sheet describes standard 6-inch wall/ceiling brackets. The heater service manual depicts the heater body, two quartz elements, brackets, hardware, installation manual and mounting template. Confirm the current packaging when received. Separately priced: flush-mount frame, Type-X box, pole/suspension hardware, Wi-Fi or zone control, disconnects, site wiring and electrical labour.
Recessed EF60 specification — frames, Type-X and cutout
For approved recessed ceiling installations, the EF61FMPF 61-inch-class flush-mount frame is a distinct product. Eurofase specifies a 65⅝ × 12 in finished opening for this heater class; the exterior frame is larger than the nominal 61-inch heater. Its flush-mount manual permits flat, non-sloped ceilings only, requires a correctly constructed pocket lined with at least 5/8-inch Type-X drywall, an externally accessible junction box, and use of the supplied four-foot high-temperature fixture whip and ceramic connectors. Do not install decorative heater faceplates in the flush configuration. Follow the stated ventilation-clearance requirements for any decorative ceiling trim.
The separately sold EF61FRBC Type-X enclosure is a possible manufacturer component for an appropriate design; its name does not independently prove a fire-resistance rating for the overall ceiling assembly. Confirm installation details, enclosure cross-references and any oversized freight requirements before order.
Smart controls, switching and zoning
At 240 V, EF60 represents a 25 A nominal heater load. The generic heater manual includes a reference illustration of Eurofase duplex switching, but it expressly requires the complete switch-specific wiring manual. Do not infer from that illustration that any 20 A wall switch or Wi-Fi controller can directly carry the EF60 load. Appropriate on/off, staged or proportional control may require a manufacturer-approved controller or contactor architecture with correctly rated protection and isolation. Have Eurofase and the electrician confirm the final model pairing, supply voltage, simultaneous load and exact connection diagram.
For engineered multi-zone heat control review the Eurofase EFURCB24 universal relay control boxes and the EFCB24 contactor family. Neither listing is an automatic compatibility endorsement; verify exact loads and required external interfaces.
Complete system bundles versus individually ordered components
Eurofase also sells manufacturer-defined two-EF60 systems: BUNDLE11 (surface/Wi-Fi), BUNDLE12 (recessed/Wi-Fi), BUNDLE13 (recessed with controls specified separately) and BUNDLE14 (recessed, enclosure-path and Wi-Fi). Compare the official Eurofase bundle listings with an à-la-carte bill of materials. Supplier bundle descriptions do not establish a complete internal component manifest or guarantee lower package pricing than individual parts.

Dealer FAQs
Can EF60 be recessed in a sloped soffit? Not with Eurofase's published flush-mount installation, which is limited to flat, non-sloped ceilings. Alternative installations require a different approved mounting plan.
Does EF60 include the frame and Type-X enclosure? No. Those are separate items unless expressly included in a verified manufacturer-defined bundle.
Can one dimmer switch control multiple EF60 heaters? The catalogue does not establish that. Design the zones and control equipment from the controller's approved electrical load rating and manufacturer diagrams.
Project information: share the patio plan, ceiling height, wind exposure, heater locations, availability of 240 V power, number of desired zones and preferred mounting method. Published coverage is an early planning reference, not a guarantee of comfort or code approval. Final stock, dealer price and delivered freight are confirmed before order.
Finish the EF60 project — mounting and wiring options
For an approved flat-ceiling recessed design, see the Eurofase 61-inch flush-mount frame. Its manufacturer kit includes a short high-temperature whip; choose a separately sold EFHTW 4-wire connection whip only where a longer 4-wire connection is specified by the qualified installer. The existing 3-wire EFHTW-C control-box whips are a different conductor configuration.
For an alternative high or sloped-ceiling installation, consider the EFSMKB telescoping suspension kit; the 66-inch suspension extension is a separate accessory. Suspension mounting and recessed mounting are alternative installation methods, not components to combine automatically.
For dealer projects needing proportional multi-heater zoning, review the EFURCB24 multi-zone relay control box. Lutron RadioRA 2/3 projects may use a suitable control-signal pathway involving the Lutron LMJ-5T-DV-B 0–10 V module, but the complete Eurofase/Lutron design requires confirmation of exact switching, source/sink signal, load protection and safe shutdown. Neither Lutron lighting modules nor decorative dimmers should be connected directly to a heater's mains load.
Project add-ons: cover and control selection
For seasonal protection, consider the Eurofase protective cover, selecting exact EF61CVRB for the EF60 manufacturer heater family. Turn off the breaker, allow the heater to cool and remove the cover before operation. For independently switched patio-heater circuits, explore weatherproof on/off switches; verify the switch, enclosure, rated current and controller design. For engineered dimming with an EFURCB relay panel, consider EFSWTD1–4 timer/dimmer wall controls, sold separately.
These are optional/project-specific items, not automatically required components. Supplier freight, availability and accessory fit must be reviewed for the complete system order.
