Eurofase EF39FRBC is the Canadian-price-list 39-inch-class prefabricated Type-X recessed heater enclosure. It is used in a manufacturer-described ceiling pocket installation with the separately specified EF39FMPF flush-mount frame and an approved 39-inch-class Eurofase heater. This product is an enclosure component, not an infrared heater, mounting-frame kit or a certified complete ceiling assembly.

Exact orderable SKU and manufacturer document revisions

Current Canadian supplier-price-list SKU: EF39FRBC. Eurofase's 2024 manufacturer specification also explicitly identifies EF39FRBC. A later Eurofase specification dated July 2025 labels an otherwise similarly dimensioned product EF39FRBE. Those manufacturer documents do not establish whether the two codes are interchangeable or supersessions. Confirm the correct SKU, inclusion and revision with Eurofase before ordering; do not replace EF39FRBC with EF39FRBE in an unapproved quote.

Technical enclosure specifications — EF39FRBC document

Dimensions: enclosure, ceiling opening and visible trim are not the same

The enclosure's 43¾ × 12 in internal footprint corresponds to the finished pocket opening in the Eurofase 39-inch flush-mount manual. The separately ordered frame's outside dimensions are about 48.05 × 16.94 in; the enclosure external dimensions are smaller (46.3125 × 14.25 in). Verify all three drawings before cutting, lining or closing the project ceiling. The enclosure's 7.25-in outer height must be evaluated with the actual framing and mechanical/electrical clearance requirements.

Electrical junction box access and heater installation

Manufacturer documents illustrate a junction box and a high-temperature whip connection. The later Eurofase enclosure sheet says the included junction box may be used only while it remains accessible; where the location becomes hidden, the electrician must instead connect to a suitably accessible junction box and select a manufacturer-approved whip length. Eurofase's standard flush kit supplies a four-foot high-temperature whip and ceramic connectors, with longer compatible whips offered separately. The installer must verify wire count, conductor rating, branch-circuit and local code requirements.

A licensed electrician is required. The matching flush-mount installation manual is limited to flat, non-sloped ceilings, downward-facing heater orientation, minimum 5/8-in Type-X pocket lining and protected ventilation paths. Do not mistake the enclosure's octagonal box for evidence that all required electrical switching or control equipment is included.

What the Type-X / fire-rated language does and does not mean

Eurofase describes the enclosure as a “fire-rated box” and lists Type-X drywall and “UL Type SCX” in its literature. This information does not establish an independent fire-resistance rating, certified assembly design number or suitability for every Canadian ceiling construction. Any required rated assembly must be supported by the applicable test/classification design and accepted by the project authority. Do not advertise this component as providing a one-hour rating to arbitrary ceilings on its own.

What to buy with EF39FRBC

Choose a suitable EF40 4,000 W heater where the job calls for that output, the corresponding EF39FMPF 39-inch flush frame in the required finish, and a control/wiring arrangement approved for the exact heater load. The enclosure does not include the heater, flush-mount frame, upstream disconnect, controller or electrical labour.
