Overview
The POEJK-HDMIER is an additional HDMI-over-IP & PoE receiver for the POEJK-HDMIE extender system. It allows you to add extra displays to an existing HDMI-over-IP link, using the same Cat6 infrastructure and PoE switching that powers your GRID DC microgrid.
Where the POEJK-HDMIE kit includes a transmitter and one receiver, the POEJK-HDMIER lets you expand that system to more screens in lobbies, corridors, classrooms or meeting spaces—without running new HDMI cabling or adding wall-warts behind every TV.
Key features
- Expansion receiver for POEJK-HDMIE – adds another display to an existing HDMI-over-IP & PoE link.
- PoE-powered operation – designed to draw power from a compatible PoE switch, reducing local power bricks.
- HDMI output at the display – presents standard HDMI to the TV or projector.
- IP-based transport – leverages your Cat6/1G Ethernet infrastructure rather than long point-to-point HDMI runs.
- IR pass-through support (when used within the POEJK-HDMIE system) so you can control the source from remote locations.
Technical highlights
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Model | POEJK-HDMIER |
| System | Expansion receiver for POEJK-HDMIE HDMI over IP & PoE kit |
| Function | Receives HDMI audio/video over IP, outputs HDMI to display |
| Network | Designed for 1G Ethernet networks (Cat5e/Cat6) |
| Power | PoE from compatible PoE switch (see system spec for details) |
| Typical role | Additional display endpoint in an existing HDMI-over-IP deployment |
Ideal applications
- Adding extra digital signage displays in retail aisles, corridors or waiting rooms.
- Duplicating content to overflow rooms, secondary projectors or confidence monitors.
- Extending a single rack-mounted source to multiple TVs in restaurants, sports bars or hospitality suites.
- Increasing the number of classroom or training displays served by one central AV rack.
Compatibility & ecosystem
- Designed specifically as an add-on receiver for the POEJK-HDMIE HDMI-over-IP & PoE extender kit.
- Integrates with the same GRID PoE switches and Cat6 cabling used for cameras, APs and Active POE-Jack® nodes.
- Leverages standard 1G switching infrastructure, making it a natural fit in GRID DC microgrid designs.
Install & design notes
- Confirm that your switch has sufficient PoE budget and backplane capacity for the added HDMI-over-IP traffic.
- For larger deployments, consider a dedicated VLAN or AV-specific switching to segment video traffic from critical data.
- Use solid-copper Cat6 wherever practical between switch and receiver for best signal integrity.
- Mount receivers in accessible locations behind displays or in nearby junction boxes, allowing for ventilation and service.
Canada-ready checklist
- ✓ Well suited to Canadian offices, schools and hospitality venues where one source feeds multiple TVs.
- ✓ Uses the same low-voltage cabling and PoE switching already present in many Canadian retrofit projects.
- ✓ Helps reduce the number of AC outlets required behind wall-mounted displays.
Compatibility micro Q&A
Can POEJK-HDMIER be used without POEJK-HDMIE?
No. It is intended as an additional receiver for a POEJK-HDMIE system. You need at least one POEJK-HDMIE transmitter to send the HDMI signal.
How many receivers can I add?
The practical limit depends on your switch capacity, network design and the capabilities of the POEJK-HDMIE system. Consult the latest system documentation and plan for sufficient bandwidth and PoE power.
Can I mix signage and data on the same switch?
In small deployments, yes—but for larger or critical environments, it’s best practice to use VLANs and QoS or even dedicated switching for AV traffic.
Specifications and features are subject to change without notice. Always refer to the latest POEJK-HDMIE / HDMIER system documentation before design or tender.
