Monitor Audio Bronze Centre 7G is the dedicated passive centre-channel loudspeaker for Bronze Series 7G home-theatre systems. Sold as a single speaker, it uses two 6-inch C-CAM bass-mid drivers around a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with UD Waveguide in a sealed 2-way enclosure.

Why use a dedicated centre channel?

In a multichannel home-theatre system, the centre channel is assigned programme information anchored to the centre of the screen, including much of the dialogue mix. Bronze Centre 7G is built specifically for that role rather than being a conventional stereo speaker turned sideways.

Monitor Audio's current Bronze 7G system information describes the Centre as the model responsible for delivering vocal passages and detailed dialogue clearly and precisely. Its wide horizontal cabinet places two 6-inch C-CAM bass-mid drivers around the central high-frequency section, creating the physical layout expected of a dedicated centre loudspeaker.

Sealed enclosure for centre-channel placement

Bronze Centre 7G uses a sealed enclosure. There is no rear bass-reflex port and no port-tuning frequency to account for. That makes its enclosure architecture materially different from the rear-ported Bronze 50 7G, Bronze 300 7G and Bronze On-Wall 7G.

The speaker still needs a stable surface with enough physical clearance for its 500 mm width, 229 mm depth and speaker wiring. Avoid obstructing the front of the cabinet or placing objects in front of the drivers and tweeter.

Amplifier and AV-receiver matching

Bronze Centre 7G is rated at 8 ohms nominal and reaches a published minimum impedance of 4.3 ohms at 200 Hz. Monitor Audio recommends amplifier power of 30–120 W RMS into 8 ohms or 60–140 W RMS into 4 ohms, while continuous speaker power handling is 120 W.

When the Centre is driven from an AV receiver, evaluate the receiver's multichannel load capability as well as its headline single-channel output. The speaker remains an 8-ohm nominal design; the 4-ohm recommendation is the amplifier's rated-output condition used by Monitor Audio, not a selectable impedance mode on the speaker.

Bronze Series system integration

Bronze Centre 7G is designed as the dedicated centre-channel member of the Bronze Series 7G family. It can be used between Bronze 50 7G or Bronze 300 7G left/right speakers, while Bronze On-Wall 7G can cover wall-mounted front, side or rear positions and Bronze AMS 7G can add Dolby Atmos height channels in a compatible system.

Final crossover frequency, level, delay / distance and bass-management settings should be established during AV-receiver or processor setup for the actual room and subwoofer configuration rather than assumed from the speaker's published frequency-response limit.
