Manufacturer-measured luminous flux — both finishes

The manufacturer's sheet gives identical lumen values for Bronze and White. The maximum measured output is 1,632.7 lm at 15W/4000K; factory default 15W/5000K is 1,625.9 lm.

Installation and control notes

Wall mounting to a suitable junction box is shown in the official installation guide. Wiring colours: black line, white neutral, green ground, purple 0–10V Dim+ and pink Dim−. Guide-specified screw torques: 1 Nm for bracket attachment and 6 Nm for the two M6 locking set screws. The guide illustrates a safety tether; follow its complete instructions and local electrical codes rather than using this summary as a substitute. Photocell has its own ON/OFF DIP switch, separate from wattage and CCT controls. Only qualified electrical installers should perform the work.

Application suitability

Appropriate manufacturer applications include cabins, porches, patios, decks, utility rooms, storerooms, docks and boathouses. IP65 rating does not establish immersion tolerance or independent salt-fog/corrosion certification. The model is not equivalent to the larger 12-inch R51087 bulkhead; verify actual diameter, electrical output and mount location before substitution.

Frequently asked technical questions

Are wattage and colour temperature separate products?

No. Both R51082 and R51083 offer all nine field-selectable light-output combinations within each finish. Choose Bronze or White when buying; an electrician sets the wattage and CCT on the unit.

Does it have dusk-to-dawn automatic control?

Yes. An integrated DC photocell is switched ON by default and may be disabled with its separate DIP switch, as illustrated in the manufacturer's installation guide.

Can this be installed by a dock or boathouse?

RENO lists docks and boathouses among intended applications and rates the housing IP65 for wet locations. That does not certify the fixture for submersion, saltwater exposure or marine corrosion resistance; confirm any special coastal or salt-spray requirements with the manufacturer and installer.

What kind of dimmer can I use?

RENO specifies 0–10V dimming. Use compatible 0–10V controls; do not assume compatibility with a standard phase-cut/TRIAC wall dimmer.

What is the physical diameter?

“8-inch” is the nominal product family name. The manufacturer's measured diameter is 7.79 inches (198 mm) and total fixture height is 4.70 inches (119.4 mm).
