Monitor Audio SB-4 is the largest model in Monitor Audio's passive soundbar range: a three-channel Left / Centre / Right loudspeaker designed to create a visually balanced front soundstage with 70-inch screens and larger. It is sold as a single soundbar and requires external amplification for all three channels.
Each Left, Centre and Right channel uses two 4-inch C-CAM bass/mid drivers and two 1-inch C-CAM Gold Dome tweeters. Across the complete cabinet that means six bass/mid drivers and six tweeters, with Auxiliary Bass Radiator loading supporting the low-frequency system.

Passive L/C/R loudspeaker — not a powered HDMI soundbar
SB-4 is a passive loudspeaker system. It does not include built-in power amplification, HDMI/eARC connectivity, wireless audio electronics or surround decoding. The Left, Centre and Right sections remain discrete channels and must be connected to the corresponding amplified outputs of an AV receiver or suitable multichannel amplifier.
This makes SB-4 functionally equivalent to three separate passive front speakers consolidated into one low-profile cabinet—not a powered consumer-TV soundbar.
Twin drivers and twin tweeters on every channel
SB-4 uses the same active-driver complement for all three front channels:

The symmetrical channel architecture distinguishes SB-4 from SB-3, where the centre channel receives additional bass/mid capacity relative to Left and Right.
MDF cabinet and through-bolt driver construction
Monitor Audio specifies an MDF cabinet with internal bracing. The drivers use single through-bolt fixing, which mechanically clamps the driver assembly through the cabinet rather than relying only on front-baffle screws.
The SB-4 also uses dedicated crossover networks and Auxiliary Bass Radiator loading. Monitor Audio publishes a 70 Hz–30 kHz response at -3 dB.
Subwoofer and high-pass configuration
Monitor Audio specifically designs SB-4 to work with a partnering subwoofer and bass management when greater low-frequency extension and system power handling are required.

The 100 W figure is conditional on the 100 Hz high-pass filter. Monitor Audio publishes an 80–120 Hz crossover range. The final crossover should be set in the AV receiver / processor for the actual subwoofer, room and installation.
Amplifier matching
SB-4 is specified at 8 ohms nominal with a recommended amplifier requirement of 30–100 W. All three channels require their own amplified signal.
The current manufacturer page does not publish a minimum-impedance figure, so one is not inferred.

Installation and connection design
SB-4 uses high-quality low-profile binding posts recessed into the rear terminal panel. The recessed layout helps maintain shallow wall clearance rather than forcing standard protruding terminals directly against the mounting surface.
The terminal panel also includes standard fixing points designed for SANUS TV mounting systems. Monitor Audio separately supports its low-profile BSB soundbar wall bracket, which provides cable access, pre-alignment and a fixing template. Integrated low-profile silicone rubber feet support furniture / cabinet-top placement.
Current Canadian commercial data separately references BASB2 for the SB-2 / SB-3 / SB-4 bracket relationship and confirms that the wall bracket is not included with the standard soundbar.
