SC-4 Versus CW-4

Both models provide the same four-gang Designer-style configuration and screwless installation. The primary difference is the surface finish:

• SC-4: Satin Colors finish with a softer, low-sheen appearance.
• CW-4: Gloss finish, with selected metal configurations also available.

For a consistent installation, match an SC-series wallplate with Lutron controls and accessories carrying the corresponding Satin Colors finish code.

Installation Considerations

• Use a properly sized four-gang wallbox with standard device spacing.
• Some compatible dimmers require their side fins to be removed for proper spacing in multi-gang installations.
• Removing dimmer fins may reduce the maximum permitted lighting load. Follow the ganging and derating instructions supplied with each control.
• Verify wallbox depth and conductor space before installing multiple electronic controls.
• A standard barrier backbox may be required when line-voltage and low-voltage devices are installed behind a common wallplate.
• Installation must comply with applicable electrical codes and the instructions supplied with each installed device.

Finish Selection

The finish code appears at the end of the complete model number. For example, an SC-4 wallplate in Snow uses the model format SC-4-SW.
